About Us
Fitness Recruit is for people who want to improve their health and fitness in a fun, time efficient way. It is perfect for those wanting weight loss, fitness for sport, or just overall toning and health benefits. In just five weeks you really will notice the difference.
Sessions take place every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6am at Fitness by Design 27 William Pickering Drive, Albany. The program runs for five weeks, and we encourage new recruits to pop down and try a session to see if it is what they are looking for.
The team is on regardless of the weather. We thrive in the open air, and leave the stuffy gyms behind for the beat of our own drums.
Fitness recruit is honest, enjoyable, and challenging. We tailor each session to each individual whether you are super fit, or a very recent convert to exercise. Being part of a group brings the best out of our participants, and as the group strengthens and gets fitter each individual improves themselves too. Being part of a team really allows far greater improvements in a very short period of time.
We bring you bootcamp type training without the intimidation and shouting of an army regieme. We pride ourselves on the fact that we can challenge each and every participant at their appropriate level.
The supportive team environment allows individual achievement far beyond what you could achieve going solo.
The program is designed by Ryan Hewitt, a qualified physiotherapist, personal trainer, coach and general hard man. Ryan has competed in events from New Zealand’s Strongest Man to the 5 Volcanoes challenge, Tough guy challenge and even holds an indoor rowing record!
Most importantly he knows how to get people fit and healthy… safely. That means the program is designed with staying injury free firmly at the forefront.
Our program is not just about exercise (though you will learn lots about that too) – as a fitness recruit you will get information to help you maximise your results over the five weeks including nutrition, recovery, and weight loss tips.
Being accountable to the group brings the best out in everyone.
Gyms are not the only answer. Bootcamps are hugely popular in America and Australia and offer a far more social and non intimidating environment to most gyms. Forget the loud music, mirrors and lyra clad bunnies. Fitness recruits are normal people wanting to fit more healthy choices into their lives.
We have found women especially love the bootcamp environment, and are often more competitive than the men.
The best thing to do is to come to a session and try us out.
Your first session is free, and gives you a chance to see if you want to be a fitness recruit…
Websites can’t give you the experience of what it feels like being involved in one of our high energy output sessions. We see people weekly who push themselves, and who are amazed by how far they have come in a short period of time.
