Day One

We had a good turn out this morning, and a bright blue day to help get our recruits under way. I was worried it was going to be windy and rainy, but mother nature was good to us… fo now

A nice easy jog to get the bodies moving followed by an introduction to the LOGS.

“say hello to my little friend!”

I read the Fitness Recruit creed to all of our recruits – I’m sure they thought OMG what have I got myself into… my best friend..what ever!

Below is the creed:

“This is my log. There are many like it but this one is mine. My log is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my log is useless. Without my log I am useless. I must carry my log true. I must be stronger than I have been in the past. I must work hard. I will. Before you I swear this creed: my log and myself are defenders of my body, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviours of my life. So be it, until there is no pain.”

Tuesdays are strength days and we hit Squats, Split squats, Press ups, Thrusters, Clean and jerk, Standing twists, Shoulder presses, and Sumo high pulls pretty hard with the logs holding up to the battering well… we will see how the recruits shape up.

The final jog was one of the toughest parts of the day having to carry the log for the full 800m.

I was really impressed with how the recruits handled things – it was a tough day and they took to it well.

Bring on Thursday our first cardio session aptly titled Platoon.

We are hoping for more numbers on Thursday, and are sure that once the word gets out our recuit roster will keep rising

Hard Logs.
